91 Software Q. IDIS Center & IDIS Solution Suite Password Policy 2025-04-15

Below is information related to the password policy of IDIS VMS.

 

#1. Upgrading 

If a user account already has a password set (i.e., not “no password”) and it is not the default password, IDIS Solution Suite v4.1.9 and IDIS Center v6.7.0 or later do not enforce a password change.
In other words, even if the previously set password does not meet the current password policy, it can still be used as is.

#2. New Installation 

However, if you are installing the latest version of IDIS Center or IDIS Solution Suite for the first time, you must set a password that complies with the password policy. Both “No Password” and “Default Password” are not allowed.

 

Password requirements:

- Cannot be the same as the User ID
- Must be 8–16 characters
- Must include at least 3 of the following: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters
(e.g., jA38v2c4, a1##sb32)

 

The password CANNOT contain:

- Number sequences (e.g., 123, 321)
- Alphabet sequences (e.g., abc, cba, ABC, CBA)
- Repeating characters (e.g., 111, aaa, AAA)

A : In the current local environment of one computer 
Person Match Service and Video Analytics Service cannot be working together. 

Current local computer IP: 172.17.27.17 
Current INEX(ISS) Version: Expert 4.0.4 
Install the current Video Analytics Service and Person Match Service on the same computer 

It is possible to install it, but it is confirmed that it does not work properly as shown in the following figure. The reason why the service cannot be loaded properly in Admin is that it does not work properly as confirmed by Service Manager.

Person If you want to use both Match Service and Video Analytics Service together, you can install the service separately on different computers, and then connect it to the same network by looking at the adminip. 

※For reference, if Person Match Service is being used on one computer, Person Match Service cannot be used on another computer.

89 Software Q. Do I need to buy the ISS backup license on the Federation side as well? 2023-11-06
A.

At Customer PJT, which was built in 2018, 
I'm trying to build additional ISS Backup service, and I have a license inquiry. 
 
The customer will probably install each backup service under admin. 
In this case,
1. Do I just follow the 1st admin backup device below for the license? 
2. Or should I buy a backup device channel as well? 


A: 
You can follow the Backup Device on the system on which the backup service will operate.
When the Backup service is registered with Admin, Admin, 
When the Backup service is registered with Federation, it is Federation.

88 Software Q. When Windows is reinstalled for Installation & ISS SW, Please tell me how to make the existing recorded data recognizable. 2023-11-06
A.

A : If you have backed-up ISS settings (*.iexp), importing them will enable existing data to be recognized.
If you do not have an existing setup backup, the ISS Setup>Recording Service>Storage>Import function can retrieve the existing recording data and retrieve it as a deleted device.

87 Software Q. Is is possible to run ISS client on a PC that IDIS Center is installed ? 2023-11-06

A. Yes. it is possible from IDIS Center version over 6.1.0.

86 Software Q. How it works IDIS Mobile Camera Auto Log-In 2022-11-10
A.

Q. If the mobile phone is in the WIFI, user can use Auto Login option.

However, it seems that auto log-in is not working when the IDIS Mobile Camera App comes up from the Background.

 

A. if the App comes up within 10 seconds after app goes background, the screen comes out as it is. 
After 10 seconds, it logs out.

After that, if user again runs the Mobile App, it will be auto log-in

85 Software Q. How many NVRs can be registered to the Mobile App ? 2022-11-10

A. There is no specific limitation, Our LAB tested registration upto 4000 NVRs.

84 Software Q. There is no change in Device Name in the IDIS Center 2022-11-10
A.

A. The IDIS Center manages device names if the Device Name Sync is unticked.

In this case, even if user changes the device name, IDIS Center shows the existing device name.

 

"Setup > Double Click the Device > Edit Device > Tick/Untick Device Name Sync"

 

 

83 Software Q. What is Device Low Bandwidth Communication on ISS ? 2022-11-10

A. It is used for seamless communication even in low bandwith network.

However,, if "Device Low Bandwidth Communication" is enabled, it is not effective in the normal network because it trys handshake communication between the device and client.

 

82 Software Q. The security level of Intelligent TLS on IDIS Solution Suite 2022-11-10
A.

A. Intelligent TLS is a level similar to TLS Very High level (Exclude Multimedia SSL).
General Exclude Multimedia SSL is used in Windows, and since it requires significant additional performance, ISS performance may be greatly reduced.
To solve this, SSL/TLS was applied according to our protocol to improve processing speed so as not to affect performance.
 

81 Software Q. ISS license registration modes and how they work 2022-11-09

A. 

1. Online Mode : Initial access to the License Server once, then no need to connect it. After Verificatioin the License Key, internet is not required.

 

2. Offline Mode :  Input the key without Internet.

 

3. Cloud Mode : It has to keep opening internet access, because Admin service keeps connection to the license server every day. limited time is 24 hours. If the network is disconnected and flows without recover it, ISS services goes out (Status : Demo Expired) if the ISS service restarts. 

80 Software Q. Characters and Menus are too small to read when launching IDIS Client on 4K monitor 2022-11-08

A, Go to Menu > Preference > System

Untick "Disabled display scaling on high DPI settings".

A. Go to Menu > View > Recorder Storage Monitor.

In that menu, all storages connected to recorders will be displayed.
